You and I are travelers just passing through this earth. And like many travelers, we need a map to
help us find our way. God has graciously given us a map in his Word. The Bible clearly points the
way home if we take the time to look. But many think they can travel without a map.
They think they know the way, only to find themselves hopelessly lost.
Not only do travelers need a map, but we often need advice from those who have journeyed this way
before. Experienced travelers help the newer travelers avoid making wrong turns. They point out
sights to see along the way. They warn of dangers to avoid. And when the journey seems long, they
gently remind us that home lies ahead.
May the writing of Jason Mitchener be notes from a fellow traveler just passing through.
I’m just passing through
Another traveler on the road
And I hear your gentle voice
As it beckons me home.
Should I want to settle here
Like I know I’m bound to do,
Keep reminding me, Lord
That I’m just passing through.
- From the song, "Just Passing Through"
by Jason Mitchener and Kitty Hart
